In the context of 11th National Plan the third consultation meeting, which is organized in all seven geographical regions by Ministry of Development, was held in Istanbul.
The Marmara Region consultation meeting has been organized by the coordination of Istanbul Development Agency. The Chairman of the Executive Committee and the Governor of Istanbul Vasip Şahin, Undersecretary of Ministry of Development Cüneyd Düzyol, Deputy Secretary Fatih Hasdemir, Deputy of Regional Development and Structural Adjustment General Directorate Ömer Bilen and whole Marmara Region Governors, Majors, Regional Development Agencies and relevant institutions’ executives participated in the meeting.
The Governor Şahin made the opening speech and he indicated that the third consultation meeting has been organized by the coordination of Istanbul Development Agency in order to involve local stakeholders into the 11th National Plan preparation process. The Governor Şahin also emphasized “Education has emerged as the main issue in the previous meetings and it was applied as a horizontal cutting measure in other subjects. Democracy, justice, security, technology based innovative and competitive production, energy and information and communication technologies were among the top 5 priorities. “
Governor Şahin said that the headlines on increasing employment and entrepreneurship and the participation in social life were highlighted in two separate meetings held in Istanbul for women and young people simultaneously, "A decisive and guiding picture of expectations in Istanbul was revealed at these meetings. I am deeply convinced that the demand and suggestions from Marmara Region will play a decisive role in the preparation process of the development plan because it is the most active region of our country. We will present important contributions to this new development plan with this meeting.”
Undersecretary of Ministry of Development Cüneyd Düzyol stated that 11th Development Plan will cover the years 2019-2023, "Our work has exceeded a year and as a result of this study we will present our national plan the Grand National Assembly of Turkey in June.”
Düzyol, who gave information about the studies of the Development Plan pointed out; “The top priority area in the new period will be the improvements of human qualities, professionalization in each area and our focus will be the quality and the standards. The pleasure of our citizens and the prosperity of our people have priority.”
After the opening speech, the priorities and policies taking part in the 11th Development Plan that outlines the goals, which in the next 5 years Turkey will achieve, had been consulted.
