Twenty-eight new startup products introduced their technologies for the first time with the support of the Istanbul Development Agency (ISTKA) at CES, the world's largest technology event held in Las Vegas, USA, inside the Turkish pavilion at the Eureka Park Area.
More than 2,100 technology companies from 159 countries attended the event, where Turkish startups and technologies were introduced to the world.
The world's largest consumer electronics event CES (Consumer Electronics Show) was held in Las Vegas - USA on January 5-7, 2022. Türkiye's first pavilion was set up with the support of the Istanbul Development Agency (ISTKA), in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Technology. The 28 startups from Türkiye were displayed at the Istanbul Pavilion, an area of 150 square meters at the EUREKA Park Exhibition area. Turkish startups had the opportunity to showcase their products and technologies and conduct customer interviews. More than 2,100 tech companies from 159 countries participated in the exhibition, showcasing digital health, smart cities, autonomous vehicles, robotics, augmented and virtual reality, artificial intelligence, e-sports, cosmetic technologies, and many more representing the consumer electronics industry.
All of the new generation technology products exhibited in CES 2022 were introduced for the first time in this organization, and 195 of the Fortune Global 500 attended the event.
28 Turkish startups introduced at Istanbul Pavilion
Incubation centers and acceleration programs collaborated for the selection and evaluation process of the startups. Startup candidates that met Eureka Park requirements were determined, and the startups that could benefit from maximum customer supply, sales, competition success, etc. were selected from among these candidates. Among the Turkish startups introduced at Istanbul Pavilion, the fields of the projects ranged from a portable breath meter to different products in different sectors like robotics, data science, and artificial intelligence training platforms. 28 startups were introduced, including a startup to identify firms and e-commerce sites selling fake products and a startup aimed at uniting gamers into one digital VR universe.
ISTKA Secretary General Erkam Tüzgen stated, “As Istanbul Development Agency, we have always supported our startups getting into international markets with the projects and acceleration programs that we have implemented since our establishment. Our aim is to introduce our startups to international markets by attending this event where the pioneers of the world entrepreneurship ecosystem and technology entrepreneurs from all over the world come together. At CES 2022, our startups had the opportunity to introduce the products from Türkiye to the whole world. For the first time this year, there was an Istanbul Pavilion for Türkiye, prepared in the coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Technology. As ISTKA, we aim to have our technology startups move towards becoming a global brand, forming new partnerships, receiving investments, and having new success stories from our entrepreneurial ecosystem. At the same time, we aim to make Istanbul an international attraction center for innovation, local and foreign startups and investors.”
